We conduct roadworthy inspections in a transparent way to ensure the best outcome for you.

Roadworthy certificates (RWCs) are required for registering or transferring your vehicle in Victoria. So, if you are selling, buying, or transferring ownership between entities we are here to help you.

A transparent approach to RWC’s

We’ve made a strategic decision to use an independent Licensed Vehicle Tester to perform the inspection for a Certificate of Roadworthiness.

Our role is to advise you on any work your car needs to meet Victoria’s safety and regulatory requirements to pass the inspection.

We support you through the entire process of obtaining an RWC by giving impartial advice on your options.

When work is required to pass the RWC

We follow a simple 1-2-3 approach

Step 1

Confirm the scope of works required to pass the RWC certificate.

Step 2

Prepare a quote for the works and talk it through with you. Answer any questions and confirm your approval to proceed.

Step 3

Complete the work, including arranging a second RWC inspection and receiving the final certificate.

Useful RWC Information

14-day window

There is a 14-day window from the first RWC inspection to repair or replace the rejected items and have them reinspected. Make you get your car reinspected within 14 days or another full inspection will be required.

Roadworthy certificate

Your RWC (Certificate of Roadworthiness) is valid for a period of 30 days from date of issue before you present it as VicRoads.

Roadworthy certificates are required for registration or transferring your vehicle in Victoria. So if you are selling, buying or transferring ownership between entities you will need one.

We conduct the RWC process in a transparent approach to ensure the nest outcome for you. Call now to arrange a time.

A transparent approach to RWC’s

We previously conducted the RWC inspections in-house, but have now made the strategic decision to move to an outsourced model. As a result an independent third party completes the inspection and paperwork.

As a result, this means that you can be confident that the RWC assessor gets no benefit from ‘finding’ any issues with your car.

When work is required to pass the RWC we follow a simple 1 – 2 – 3 approach:

Confirm the scope of works required to pass the RWC certificate

Prepare a quote for the works and talk it through with you. Answer any questions and confirm your approval to proceed, and

Complete the work, including arranging a second RWC inspection and receiving the final certificate.

As always with work we complete, if any issues or areas are identified during our work that may impact or change the scope, we will:

Immediately stop

Re-assess the impact/develop a plan, and

If there is a change touch-base with you to confirm the approach.

Useful RWC Information

There is a 14 day window from first RWC inspection to have the work completed and car re-inspected. Make sure you get the car repaired and re-inspected within the 7-days to avoid doing the process again.

Your RWC (roadworthy certificate) lasts for 30 days from the date of receiving the ‘green slip’ (the fully executed RWC).

So if you need to transfer or sell your vehicle, make sure it is completed within this timeframe! This saves you the hassle and cost of re-inspection.
